More pics from Indy

I don't know why blogger acts like this sometimes, but it wouldn't let me post more than five pictures on that last post. So I'm gonna post the rest here. The last post was mostly about the things we did before the festival started. This one is pics from the ceremony itself.

There was a concert with just a bunch of Christmas music for the first hour and a half before they actually lit the tree. It was pretty fun. They had everything from a jazz band to a children's choir. In this picture you can see the stage and everyone who was in front of us. (It was REALLY crowded as you can see!) They had fake snow falling on the stage for part of the concert, which we found out later was actually bubbles. You can see it in this picture.

When the tree lit up, they also lit off fireworks.

This was mine and Jill's view of the tree.

And this is a better view I got when we were leaving.

Indy w/ Jill

This post was meant to go up quite some time ago, but I am just now getting it up because I am a slacker. = ) Over Thanksgiving Break Jill and I went to Indy for the Circle of Lights festival, where they light up the Christmas tree in the middle of the square for the first time. It was super fun! I'll let the pics tell the story:
Different radio stations had set up booths all around the square. I thought this "bus" was super cute, and 93.9 is a local Christian station. So that was cool.

Starbucks had a booth set up where they were giving away free samples of their Christmas drinks (gingerbread lattes, peppermint hot chocolate, and Christmas blend coffee.). Me and Jill both tried the gingerbread latte. The cups they gave us were so adorable! (As you can see.) In this picture we had whipped cream mustaches. (So Jr. High! LOL.)

This is me and Jill in front of the unlit tree. It was kind of cool even before it was lit up. (BTW, I made that scarf she's wearing. Isn't it cute? LOL.)

We got to Indy several hours before the thing was supposed to start, so we went to Circle Center Mall for a while. This is a picture of a solarium-type area where they have informal music performances sometimes. (Dan, maybe when you grow up and lead a jazz band, you can them to Indy! LOL.) It goes right over the street. Pretty cool...

When the big tree lit up, the building next to us lit up like this. I thought it was kind of funny and cool, so I took a picture.
