Changing Over

I've decided to switch to xanga, because blogger won't let me post pictures. So if you want to read my new blog, go to www.xanga.com/screaminpeep. I transfered alot of my posts from this blog to the new one, so...yeah. Visit me sometime! = )

Rebecca's Reply

So when Rebecca Ferris read my post about how she tried to kill me she had a thing or two to say about the situation. We were both working on the computers in the practice room when she read the post, so she shot me an email denying her guilt, and we emailed back and forth for a few minutes, talking smack about who's got better skills. It got pretty funny, so I thought I'd post our conversation.

Rebecca: i did NOT purposely try to kill you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me: yeah you did you murderer wannabe!

Rebecca: whatever. there's nothing to be jealous of with you

Me: that's a load and you know it!

Rebecca: ok, tell me what you have that i don't

Me: i got skills, man!

Rebecca: like what. taking pictures of yourself in harmony?

Me: well, that too. i mean skills in general. oh yeah. i got skills.

Rebecca: yeah, whatever. i've got better skills

Me: pshaw! you wish. naw man, let me just say. i am totally the bomb dot comb. like, the bomb digity dot com. i could outplay you anyday. by the end of next semester, i bet i'll be able to beat you in a french horn off!

Rebecca: alrighty, we'll have to do that. the only reason why you could outplay me is cause horn is way harder than euphonium anyway

Me: no man, i mean, i'll have better french horn skills than you because...I GOT SKILLS BABY!

Rebecca: yeah yeah, whatever. don't call me baby. i think i feel threatened. i want to come over and beat you over the head with my case

Me: whatev! i'll beat you over the head with my...um...boots! [she had been making fun of my boots earlier]

Rebecca: ooh, are they warm?

Me: you better believe it!...baby! hahaha

Rebecca: argh!!!!!!!!!!!! i still have 5 atomic fireballs, you know

Me: aaahhhhh! btw, it's really hard to do auralia [an ear training program] with that stupid bell thing playing. esp. since it's usually out of tune and sometimes the harmonies are wrong. urg.

Rebecca: i know, it bugs me so much, cause like your blog said, i was trying to harmonize with it today, and it's so out of tune!!!

Wow, we're so wierd! But it just cracks me up. It's so hilarious to talk smack with other brass players. Anyway, I better get going. I just wanted to share the hilarity of my conversation with Rebecca. LOL.

Cool Thing

I found this super cool thing on the internet today! It's this personality quiz. Super fun. So I'm putting it in my blog. It describes me pretty well, for the most part. LOL.
You Have a Choleric Temperament

You are a person of great enthusiasm - easily excited by many things.
Unsatisfied by the ordinary, you are reaching for an epic, extraordinary life.
You want the best. The best life. The best love. The best reputation.

You posses a sharp and keen intellect. Your mind is your primary weapon.
Strong willed, nothing can keep you down. Your energy can break down any wall.
You're an instantly passionate person - and this passion gives you an intoxicating power over others.

At your worst, you are a narcissist. Full of yourself and even proud of your faults.
Stubborn and opinionated, you know what you think is right. End of discussion.
A bit of a misanthrope, you often see others as weak, ignorant, and inferior.

This Weekend

I'm going to A Christmas Carol this weekend! Yay! I'm really excited. I've heard that it's really good. = ) And I'm hoping to be able to spend the night at my cousins' this weekend. I need to do laundry, but I have no money! LOL. So I'm (hopefully!) gonna be able to do that this weekend. Well, this was a really short post, but I'm gonna head off to church! Have a wonderful Wednesday night!

I Think I'm Dying

Okay, so maybe the title is a little bit of an exaggeration, but...I think I have a disease. Diabetes. Because I'm really sick. Like, I'm always tired. And I always have to go to the BR. I'm always thirsty. And tons of other stuff. So I think I'm going to die...or something. NEway. Oh, yeah, and it majorly runs in my family. Like my Grandpa Lingle has it, and my Grandma Luttrull has it. So I'm pretty sure I have it. Okay, well, our room is about to open Christmas presents, so I'm gonna sign off now! Bye!

Me, Jill, and the Christmas Tree

I haven't been able to post pictures in a while (my computer is a little bit nutso), but it let me post this one today! Yay! It's of me and my best friend in all the world, Jillian Delaney. I decorated that Christmas tree when I went home for Thanksgiving, intending to bring it back to college with me. But I accidentally left it. Oh well. Now it's decorating my room at home! = )

Snow

Yay! It's snowing outside! Really alot! Oh how I love snow. It makes the cold more bearable. = ) And it's SOOOO pretty! And next week is the last week of classes. And Christmas is in 23 days. Oh yes. Life is looking wonderful. When I was walking to dinner tonight the snow got all on my hair and coat and hat, and when I came in, it melted into beautiful little droplets that looked like tiny jewels. Have you ever seen it do that? It made me think of how back in the day when Jill and I were in high school (wow, that seems like an age ago!) we always used to want the snow to melt in our hair like that. Whenever it did, we called it a "fairy tale moment." LOL. We were so strange!

Sounds

I was thinking just now about how often I tune sounds out. As a music major, we learn to tune stuff out really well. We have to in order to practice, because our practice rooms aren't sound proof, and often there'll be several other people practicing at the same time. But I was thinking as I sit here in my practice room about how blind people sort of "see" with their ears by listening very closely to everything around them. So I decided to listen really close and see what I'd hear. Here's what I'm hearing just now:
A French horn warming up with some arpeggio exercises
A violin playing something (not sure what, they're too far away to hear it clearly)
The whir of my computer
Footsteps in the hallway
The funny sound the radiator makes every few seconds
The tapping of the keys on the keyboard
A train going by
That's really alot of sounds! It's so wierd that if I hadn't made a concious effort ot listen to them I wouldn't even have noticed them! God designed us so wonderfully to be able to turn off our ears if we want to. = )
