Triumphant Brass's First Day Out!

Sunday was TB's first day out! It was oh-so fun. Pretty much amazing. This summer is going to be the best summer of my life! LOL. Here are some pics:

What a stud. LOL.

Dan tried on my shoes...they didn't fit.

Marcus goofing off at McDonalds.

Whoa! Becca's grown! She can reach the light fixture!

...or maybe the light fixtures are just really low...

Easter Sunday and Cornerstone

Easter Sunday was really nice at Cornerstone. It was the one year anniversary of Cornerstone's first service, which made it extra special. We had alot of music, which was fun. One of the songs was going to be a mixed quartet with Kelly as soprano, me as alto, Eric as tenor, and Jordan as bass. Unfortunately, however, Kelly couldn't get the piano part recorded, so she had to play it for the performace. That bumped me up to soprano without an alto to support me! Scary! Especially since I had to hit a high F! But the Lord gave me strength, and I was surprisingly un-nervous. (Pardon my horrendous grammar. LOL.) After the service we went to the McPhails' for lunch. The Carlsons came, too, and so did Zach. We had a feast and lots of fun fellowship. =)

This picture was actually taken the week before Easter Sunday, but it was taken while Kelly and I were at Cornerstone, so I decided to include it. =)

Mrs. Carlson made this cake (It's called "bunny cake."), and I just thought it was so cute! So I took a picture of it. LOL.
This is Frankie, the McPhails' dog. He's adorable.

Mullens

On Saturday night Auna was craving a frozen hot chocolate from Latte Donatte. I told her that I'd go with her. Unfortunately we'd forgotten that Watertown is retarded and everything closes super early. Everything, that is except Mullens. LOL. We ended up going there and getting ice cream. Yum! It was a ton of fun.

First Berres Brothers Trip of the Year! =)

Me and Michelle have somewhat of a tradition of riding our bikes to Berres Brothers when I come over on Saturdays. Obviously, it hasn't been warm enough to do that in quite some time, but this past Saturday her mom was going to Walmart, so she took me and Michelle and dropped us off at Berres while she and Cathy went shopping. It was really fun. =) Michelle and I both got the hot chocolate, which was excellent.

Michelle didn't want to have her picture taken. She's so goofy.

H.M.S. Pinafore Rehearsals

H.M.S. Pinafore is this week, so all last week and all this week (until the performaces, of course) we've been having rehearsals from 6 or 7 at night till 10. It's been crazy, but those of us who spend our evenings in the orchestra pit manage to keep things fun. LOL. Here are some pics that were taken during breaks:

Micah was trying to play my French horn, and David was exploring my phone. I told them to try and make it look like a candid, but for some reason David scooted in really close to Micah. I think he was just trying to get in the shot, but it just looks really funny, because the French horn bell is pointed straight into David's stomach. LOL.

Oh my, these boys are so wierd.

My and Heidi's Adventure

I haven't posted in a while because I didn't have the cord to my camera. But my mom mailed me the cord, so now I can post all the pictures I took. =) On the way back to school from Spring Break, Heidi Williams and I stopped and explored this old abandoned barn we saw in the middle of a field in Indiana. (I love and miss Indiana! LOL.) The thing was literally falling in on itself. It was really fun, and we felt adventurous. =)

I climbed up this old tractor into the second story. In this picture I was leaning back so you could see what was behind/beneath me.

This is what I could see when I climbed up to the second story.

Half of the building had caved in completely. Here Heidi's grabbing onto what used to be a rafter.

This used to be a wall I think...

Tuesday

Tuesday was such a good day! It was fundamentalism conference, so we didn't have any classes. We had two sessions in the morning and one at night, but we had the entire afternoon to ourselves. It was perfect, because it was the most beautiful day we've had all year! It was 65 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze...gorgeous. I went out to lunch with Becky, Heath, and Chris, then, when we got back, I decided to walk to the library. On my way, Dan drove by me and shouted my name out his window (dork. lol.), so I called him. He told me that he, Micah, and Sarah were going to Latte Donatte. I asked if I could come too, and he said sure, so I went and hung out with the three of them for a while. It was so nice to just sit and relax and talk with friends. =) Then I went to the library, updated my facebook, checked my email, etc. I didn't even set foot in the practice rooms all day. It was great.
And tomorrow morning I go home!!!! Woot, woot. I cannot wait! I miss my family so much! And my mom is having surgery tomorrow morning (pray for her if you think of it!), so I'll get to play mommy to my mommy all week. =) Have a great spring break, everyone!!

Band Recording #3

On Saturday we had our third and (hopefully!) final band recording session. It was relatively un-eventful, except for when Chris almost got busted for climbing a pole up onto the gym roof. That was quite hilarious, but it's too long a story to tell here. If you're really interested, stop me on the sidewalk sometime and I'll tell you the whole story. LOL.
Anyway, I didn't really get too many pics, but here are some of the ones I got:

Chris goofing off with his mouthpiece.

Krista playing the euphonium...for the last time. Waaaaa! We'll miss you, Krista! The trumpet section is not worthy! LOL.

Katie playing the xylophone.

Chapel Buddies

This is me with Christina Jarvis and Amber Pelesky. I sit with them in chapel every day. The other day we were just feeling the need for a little photo-op. Here are the results. =)

Feelin' crazy.

The other day I was walking up the steps in the student center, and when I looked out the window, I saw this cardinal! It was one of the last really cold days we had, so it was really cool to see a bird at all, let alone a cardinal. It was like a good omen saying, "Spring is almost here! Just hold out a few more weeks!"
On another note, what is it about seeing a cardinal that is so exciting? It's not like they're that rare. I mean, if someone looked out their window and saw an ostrich walking across their lawn, that would be something to get excited about. But a cardinal? I don't know. But I get excited when I see one. =)

Shopping for Triumphant Brass

TheTriumphant Brass girls went shopping again on Saturday. This time we brought David Woolley, Lindsay Fite, and Andrew Artman. Good move on our parts. LOL. They picked out outfits for all of us. It took us seven agonizing hours, but we're done except for polos and jewelry. What a relief. Now we just have to pray that the committee approves everything. LOL.
Some embarrassing moments on our shopping trip:
1) Asking a fellow shopper in H&M about a price on something. She was all, "Uh...I don't work here..." And I was all, "Whoopsie!"
2) Trying to walk in the six-inch heels Andrew made me try on. He was all, "You can do it! I know you can!" Well, pretty much he was wrong. LOL
3) Wandering around H&M wearing a brown and white polka dotted skirt with my neon green polo shirt while Andrew held up shirt after shirt trying to decide if it would go with the skirt while Lindsay and David laughed at me.
4) Getting stopped by one of those guys who want to do your nails and then not being able to understand a word he was saying because of his fake accent.
I'm sure there were more, but I can't remember them. =) Anyway, here are some pics:
Me and Becky waiting while the others looked at shoes.

L to R: Becky, Rebecca, and me. As you can see we decided to coordinate instead of match. We're wearing brown and the guys are gonna have brown suits with white shirts and purple ties. It's gonna look awesome!

Here you can see our skirts better.

And these are our shoes. I'm wearing heels! I never wear heels! I just hope I don't trip trying ot walk onstage. LOL.

Marc's senior recital

Marc had his senior recital Friday night. The Triumphant Brass played an ensemble number with him. It was a ton of fun. We all just sat in 214 and goofed off while we waited for our cue. Here are some pics:
All of our feet...minus Marc's...he was performing at the time.

David stole my camera and was taking a bunch of random pictures of himself. What a wierdo. LOL.

Me and Becca just relaxing...

This was one of the serving tables at Marc's reception. Isn't it pretty?

Dan, me, and Scates. Grose, Scates!

I TOLD Dan to smile, but did he? No. Turd.

I feel old....

We have visitors staying in our room tonite. High school students on a college trip. They are hilarious. I was telling one of them that I was 9 when I first got contacts and she was all, "They were invented then?" Oh my word I feel so old.

Hilarious Work Order

One of my jobs at the bus garage is to process the work orders that come thru. Today I came across the most hilarious one. It says "student locked in dorm room and cannot open door." When I read it I just started cracking up. Can you imagine being that poor guy? How embarrasing to have to call security because you can't open your own door. And then he had to wait for someone to come fix the door handle so he could get out. Hilarious, I tell you.
